§ 1
The Bildungswerk des Bielefelder Schulvereins e.V., hereinafter referred to as bibis, offers German courses for personal and professional development for adults. The following conditions apply to all contractual relationships. The achievement of specific individual learning goals is not guaranteed.
§ 2
The tuition contract is concluded upon acceptance of the registration and confirmation by the Bielefelder Schulverein e.V..
The conclusion of the teaching contract requires in particular the individual suitability of the course participant (see admission requirements), capacities in the course offer and payment of the respective course fee. There is no entitlement to participate in the courses of the Bielefelder Schulverein e.V.
The respective current course offers as well as their specific learning content, the duration, course fees and any admission requirements can be found on the bibis website(www.bibisnet.de) or in the current publications or can be requested. The descriptions there are part of the contract.
Registration / expression of interest in the bibis courses is possible at any time in writing, by letter, e-mail or fax as well as via the contact form on the homepage(https://bibisnet.de/anfrage.html). As a rule, a – free – language test for placement will be arranged after initial contact.
bibis is entitled to withdraw from the teaching contract after conclusion of the contract and before the start of the course if the minimum number of 12 participants is not reached or in the event of force majeure. In such cases, any course fees already paid will be refunded in full; participants shall have no further claims.
§ 3
In accordance with the German right of withdrawal, the participant may withdraw from the teaching contract in writing (e.g. letter, fax, e-mail) within 14 days of receipt of the registration confirmation without giving reasons. Withdrawal has no further consequences; fees paid will be refunded except for the bank charges. The revocation is to be sent to:

This applies if the contract has been concluded online and the participant has not waived the right of withdrawal by participating within the deadline.
§ 4
One lesson lasts 45 minutes. There are no lessons on public holidays in Germany and NRW.
§ 5
The course participant will receive a certificate of course attendance or the times attended if he/she can provide proof of legitimate interest.
In the event of (partial) non-participation in a booked and already attended course, there is no entitlement to a substitute event or reimbursement of the course fees.
If the course participant cancels the course before the start of the course without legal grounds, outside the statutory right of withdrawal, any deposit paid shall remain with bibis as lump-sum compensation. This serves to compensate for previous efforts (placement test, correspondence with authorities, etc.). The course participant reserves the right to provide evidence of lower damages.
§ 6
The respective course fees can be found in the current course announcements and the course offers on the website(www.bibisnet.de/images/kurstabellen/Kurstabellen_D.html).
These are (see §2) part of the contract.
The respective course fees do not include examination fees and costs for textbooks.

The name of the participant must be stated with each payment.
§ 7
Participation in bibis courses is at your own risk. Liability for personal injury and damage to property is excluded to the extent permitted by law and is furthermore limited to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract. The exclusion of liability does not cover cases of intent or gross negligence. In the event of injury to life, limb or health, negligent breaches of duty are also not covered by the exclusion of liability.
§ 8
The course materials are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced or distributed for purposes other than the private use of the course participant without the course participant’s consent.
§ 9
If personal data is made available to bibis, it is used exclusively to answer inquiries and to process concluded contracts and for technical administration.
Personal data will only be passed on to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose of contract processing – in particular for contact with authorities etc. – or for billing purposes and if consent has been given. Any consent given can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. The data will not be passed on to third parties, for example for advertising purposes.
The deletion of the stored personal data takes place if the consent to the storage is revoked or if the knowledge of the data is no longer required to fulfill the purpose for which it was stored or if the storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons.
Upon personal written request, bibis will provide information about the status of the stored data at any time.

§ 10
The place of fulfillment is Bielefeld. The statutory places of jurisdiction shall apply.
§ 11
Should any provision of these conditions of participation be invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
